PRIM HALLOWEEN CANDY CORN MAN & CONE
Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Halloween Offerings. Here we have a Primitive Grungy Halloween Candy Corn Man Art Doll that I have fondly named "Cornelius". This piece would display nicely as a centerpiece, shelf sitter or tuck nestled in with your Halloween Decor. He measures 9" tall and 16" wide and 4" deep. I created this piece in the primitive grungy fashion to give it that time-worn look. The Candy CornMan's body is sewn from muslin, with boxed mitered corners and stuffed with fiberfill. I have given him those wonderful uplifted eyelids that are stitched on by hand. I then paint-washed his body in the traditional candy corn colors, yellow, orange and white with a light dry brushing of black between the colored segments. His blue eyes were both painted with acrylics and shaded with artist pencils, followed with a matter sealer. After sanding, the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon stain was applied, wiped off and baked. His separate 3-D nose was painted orange and his cross-hatch mouth painted black. I have used tree branch twigs from my yard to make his outstretched arms. Cornelius holds a prim tusse musse cone sewn from orange and black gingham cotton and stained with the grungy solution and dusted with dry cinnamon. It is filled with sprigs of fragrant Sweet Annie, Pip Berry, a Pumpkin Pod and green moss then wired to his twig arm. I have given him a Prim Tag that was stained with the grungy solution, baked, and adhered an image of a vintage witch holding her black cat that says " Happy Hallowe'en ". I have bordered the image with sparkling black German Glass Glitter. This piece has been lovingly made by me from a pattern designed by Barefoot Primitives.

Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Halloween Offerings. Here we have a Primitive Grubby Halloween Black Widow Spider Nodder that I have fondly named "Miss E. Spider". This piece would display nicely as a centerpiece, shelf sitter or nestled in with your Halloween Decor. She measures 15" tall and 9" wide and 5" deep. I created this piece in the primitive grungy fashion to give it that time-worn look. The Spider's round head and round body are sewn from muslin, featuring multisectional pieces, stuffed with fiberfill and stitched together at the center. I then paint-washed her body in black, sanded and aged her with sanding. Her "hour glass" markings were hand-painted with acrylics in red with dry brushed edges in black. Her eyes, nose, and mouth were hand painted with acrylics and shaded with white artist pencil, followed with a matte sealer. Her majestic crown was cut from black felt and silver German Glass Glitter was adhered for a bit of sparkle. Tiny Black pom-pom picot loop trims the base of the crown for an elegant look. Vintage black tinsel garland trims her neck and the base of her body. I have placed her on an olde rusty bed spring as her nodder. Her lanky spider legs are formed from black wire looped at the ends. Her top wire legs hold up her banner sign that says "Come Into My Parlor" constructed from two pieces of card stock, one painted black and the other stained parchment. This piece would display nicely as a shelf sitter or centerpiece with your Halloween Decor. He measures 21" tall and 12" wide and 11" deep. The ghost's body is sewn from muslin, stuffed with fiberfill, paint-washed white, sanded, and aged with coffee-vanilla-cinnamon stain, and baked. His eyes are hand-stitched french knots and I have given him a pinch-stitched nose and I have prim stitched his mouth with black floss and sealed it all with a matte sealer.I have given him a spooky draped gown made from cheese cloth that I have put through the grunging process with coffee-vanilla-cinnamon stain. The ghost is holding a lighted lantern that I have constructed from clay and baked and painted. It dangles from a rusty wire staff hanger that is stitched to his hand. The flying bat is sewn from muslin, stuffed, paint-washed dark brown for the body and black for the out stretched wings. The wings are wired and poseable. A rusty bell dangles from his rusty wire collar and the wire is formed into the reigns that wrap around the ghost's hands. PRIM HARVEST PUMPKIN PIE PILGRIM CROWS
Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Fall Offerings. Here we have a grungy primitive Harvest Pumpkin with two visting Pilgrim Crows as a gathering for a centerpiece or shelf sitter, just perfect for your Fall/Autumn display. This piece measures 8" tall, 18" wide and 11" deep. What a great addition to your Thanksgiving Holiday table! And they smell heavenly!I created this piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. All pieces are sewn from muslin and stuffed with fiberfill and needle sculpted with floss. I have aged the pumpkin with a paint-wash in burnt orange and brushed on a mixture of cinnamon, coffee and vanilla followed by a dusting with dry cinnamon giving it a wonderful scented auroma of fresh baked pumpkin pie. A branch from a tree is used for the stem surrounded by two painted leaves and Green Floral Moss plus Spanish Moss at the base. The pie rests in a painted tin pie plate surrounded by spanish moss around the edges. After needled-sculpting their noses, wings and tail, I paint-washed Mr. & Mrs. Pilgrim Crow in black, sanded and then stained them with the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon aging mixture for that grungy dirty prim style. Tiny black shiny beads are sewn on for their eyes. Mrs. Crow's pilgrim bonnet is made from coffee-stained ognasburg and ties under her chin. Mr. Crow's top hat is paint-washed in black, aged, and dusted with cinnnamon and a stained cheesecloth band and he sports a matching stained cheese cloth scarf. Both crows have antique rusty square head nails as their legs and feet which strategically rest on the pie for pecking into the pie. All three pieces of this gathering are separate for easy storage.I have stained a Prim Tag in the coffee-vanilla mixture and carefully burned the edges with a flame that reads..."Give Thanks", This piece has been lovingly made by me from a pattern created by Linette of Needful Primitives.
